Lincoln documentary wedding photography at Charlotte House Hotel - Corinne & Craig
Corinne & Craig had their beautiful day at Charlotte House Hotel in Lincoln. I’ve done a few weddings at Charlotte House and it’s so convenient for me, it’s only about a 10/15 walk from my home! It’s a shame I still needed to take my car to carry my light stands and all the extras I carry around for weddings. Craig used to be a wedding photographer himself so I felt a bit of extra pressure, but it was an absolutely beautiful day with the most relaxed couple and a pleasure to photograph.
Charlotte House is a lovely wedding venue located in The Lawn in uphill Lincoln, right opposite the back of the castle gate. You aren’t allowed to take wedding photographs in the castle grounds without a permit but the outside of the gate is lovely to use after the castle has closed in the evening. There’s also the quiet John Dauber Garden at the back of the Lawn, which is perfect for doing some photographs of the newlyweds before it closes. The wedding venue has an amazing location, the hotel has plenty of rooms for guests to stay but it’s also a stone’s throw from the Bailgate and walking distance from Lincoln City Centre so there are loads of options for places for guests to stay. It’s one of the few venues I’ve been to that you can step outside of and have countless pubs, restaurants and hotels within walking distance, yet it's still spacious and wonderful inside.
I joined Corinne and her crew in the morning at Charlotte House for prep and Lianne went to their home in Cherry Willingham where Craig and his best man were getting ready. The ceremony was in the main room at Charlotte House, it’s lovely for natural light as one of the walls is floor to ceiling glass. I can’t not mention the game of Jenga that was a constant source of entertainment throughout the day and even made it onto the dance floor later on! Here are a few of my faves from their wedding day.
