Newark Register Office and garden reception - Amy & Jake

Amy and Jake’s summer wedding was a beautifully relaxed day with their closest family and friends. They’d changed their original big wedding plans to have their reception in Amy’s Dad’s garden in Lincoln and it was perfect! I joined Amy at her mum’s house for some prep photographs before we headed to Newark Register Office for the ceremony, then onto Lincoln for the garden reception.

This was my first time at Newark Register Office and it was lovely! Lovely big windows with lots of natural light, and the ruins of Newark Castle directly behind. You can use the castle gardens for wedding photographs afterwards, it’s perfect.

Amy’s dad and her step dad both walked her down the aisle together, which is something I hadn’t seen before and was such a lovely touch!

The wedding cake was tiers of Krispy Kreme doughnuts with macaroons instead of a traditional cake, and on the menu were fish and chips from the local chippy. Intimate receptions like these are so laid back and stress free. There was an intense game of Jenga that had everybody at the edge of their seat!

I like to include a lot of photographs in my blogs, rather than just selecting the absolute best few, to give viewers a good overview of the wedding gallery, so you’ll find images from each part of the day. Please do scroll down to see photos from the wedding ceremony, drinks reception, speeches, relaxed portraits of the couple and the party, after the prep and pre ceremony photos.

This is still only roughly 10% of the full wedding gallery.
