London wedding photography in Southwark Register Office and the Camberwell Arms - Jonny & Claire

Claire & Jonny’s was my first full wedding day of the year and it was absolutely amazing to be back! Like many people Claire & Jonny’s original plans had been affected by Covid. They were originally planning to do the legal part on this very day and the full wedding day the following day at the Round Chapel in Clapton with all of their friends and family. With restrictions still being in place by then they decided to scrap the Round Chapel plans and make the most out of their official wedding day with 30 people, and what a day it was!

The Camberwell Arms was the perfect venue to host a 30 person wedding reception, they had a beautiful ceremony hosted by London based celebrant Nat Raybould, then a sit down meal followed by speeches and a cake cutting. This was all following the legal vows at Southwark Register Office with a windy walk in between. So I was lucky enough to photograph two ceremonies that day.

Claire & Jonny had a really romantic proposal story, they had casually agreed that they would get married but also that they would each propose to each other at a surprise moment, and so they both did and here we are at their wedding day. Their celebrant, Nat, had their love story perfectly composed and told, she was fab and much more exciting than my extremely brief description above!

I started at their house in Peckham for bridal prep, whilst second shooter, Virginia did groom prep with Jonny. Due to limits on numbers and it being a small wedding Virginia couldn’t join us for the rest of the day, so I continued as a solo photographer for the rest of the day.
