Happy Halloween! Pumpkin Picking with Jesse at Doddington Hall, Lincoln
Happy Halloween! Pumpkin picking with Jesse at Doddington Hall, Lincoln.
This blog has jumped the queue as I wanted to be able to share it on Halloween!
Jesse, Lisa and I went pumpkin picking at Doddington Hall just outside Lincoln so Jesse could pick some pumpkins for his family. It’s a really fun activity for children, beats going to the supermarket! It also makes for the perfect photoshoot as the children are enjoying themselves and having fun without even thinking about the camera, so this kind of thing is ideal for shy children (not that Jesse is shy!).
It was also around Jesse’s 4th birthday so the photographs mark his 4th big milestone as well as Halloween.
We grabbed a wheelbarrow and off we went.
It was a lovely blue skied, sunny day so I made use of the sun with some more creative techniques and got some fun and colourful sun flare. Harsh sunlight makes it more difficult to get technically perfect images but it inspires me to be more creative so I was really excited for this session. I took some risks and really embraced the sunshine!
After the pumpkin picking we had a little stroll around the front gardens, the main gardens weren’t open but even the small front garden was very beautiful.
Pumpkin picking was lots of fun for all of us, but especially Jesse who got to choose a pumpkin for each member of his family, and one for me!
Happy Halloween!
