About me
Hello! I'm Kat.
Firstly, cringe! I hate this part (don't we all?), but it's something for you to 'get the gist' of me before deciding to spend your hard earned cash with me. So, time to get this up to date and be open, here I am!
I live in Lincoln with my husband, Scott (who often second shoots with me). I'm lucky enough to have a place to stay in East London and being a direct 2 hour train journey away I love coming down to London for weddings. Photographing and being in London makes me happy.
A few facts about me...
I'm 37 (unless I just haven't updated this for a while, in which case I'm older).
My full name is Kathleen Mabel Gregson Sadler, hence KMGS. I was named after both of my grandmas (Kathleen Sadler and Mabel Gregson).
Travel and exploring are essential in my life, I need to see what's out there. My favourite places I've been to so far are Tokyo, Darjeeling, Tallinn, Istanbul and Ljubljana, although I could write a much longer list as it is actually impossible to choose just a few favourites. I also love London and New York and love the buzz of a big city.
I love music and really appreciate a good bass line. As a youngster I learnt the bass guitar (although I rarely pick it up anymore unless my family are recording a rendition of 'When I'm 64' for a birthday present!). I also dabbled in drums and guitar. I love going to gigs and watching live music.
I love plant based cooking, although I'm not that great at cooking, but I really enjoy it. Scott is the head chef and I am sous.
I have a degree in Visual Communication, specialising in photography.
My approach to photography...
I class myself as a documentary wedding photographer and am all about capturing real moments to give you an authentic view of your wedding day. I will admit it isn't strictly 100% documentary photography as there are two parts of the day I'll give some slight direction. Your first portraits together as newlyweds will involve some very gentle guidance from me, and your formal group shots, if you're wanting some. The rest of the day will be completely documentary. I won't tell you how to act or what to do at any other point (maybe a really quick bridal portrait if there's time in the morning!), I want to capture your personalities, not mine or anyone elses!
I love all weddings and LOVE that every wedding is different from the last. I especially love anything a bit quirky and non traditional. I love a good pub wedding and a village hall do (I had a village hall wedding myself) as well as grand fairy tale weddings.
Lastly, I am 100% completely devoted to and head over heels in love with my job. I'm living my dream. It has taken a while to get here but I'm here. Every single booking I get makes me feel proper chuffed. I never take it for granted and still have to pinch myself occasionally.
Thanks for reading! Check out my photos!
